District assessments are included in your property tax bill sent to you by the County.

If you are entitled to receive surface water, your assessment is used to pay District activities related to the capture, storage and delivery of Kings River, and other, surface water to your parcel.  These activities include protecting and maintaining water rights on the Kings River, operating and maintaining the facilities to store and convey water – including storage in Pine Flat Dam and other upstream reservoirs, and construction of new facilities to increase groundwater recharge and more efficiently measure flows throughout the delivery system.

If you are on the “pump rate”, your assessment is used to pay for district activities related to the capture, storage and delivery of Kings River, and other, surface water to basins within the District to recharge the underlying aquifer.

The amount you owe is based on the size of the parcels (acres) and the category of water service listed for your parcel.  Current rates are listed under the “Charges” section.
